He discovered a formula that calculates the length of the sides of a triangle. Pythagoras named the formula after himself. He also made a religious society. It is located in southern Italy. He taught them how to live a good and pure life. He believed this religious society would help them live forever. This is why Pythagoras is the most important Greek thinker.
